My favorite photography book of all time is The Tao of Photography by Philippe Gross. Here's a quote that pretty much sums it up: "Photography has the capacity to awaken the boundless universe generating a breathless moment of eternity, inducing a deep state of mindfulness, sweeping the self with a sense of awe or revealing the constructive nature of reality." All of my best photographs are totally random, unplanned and taken when and where you would least expect it. My senses are always heightened when I have a camera in my hands and I see the world differently. Here's another great quote on the subject by Elliot Erwitt: "It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. It has little to do with the things that you see. and everything to do with the way you see them."
